Course Work

Over the course of one semester, the Design Studio 1 class I taught at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi was tasked with creating a brand for a festival of their choosing. This is their first full campaign project in the design program, and allowed them to stretch their creative muscles within the confines of a pseudo client environment. Each student was responsible for establishing a festival logo, color palette, typeface family, brochure, poster, social media elements, and logo animation.

The course concluded with a festival pitch that was given to guest creative professionals from the community and a winner was awarded a “Best Fest” title and trophy.

Throughout the semester, students were exposed to group lectures as well as individual meeting times with me. Having a chance to brainstorm, sketch, and pitch ideas in a larger environment as well one-on-one with an instructor helps them get comfortable with articulating ideas and refining their work.
